About the producer
The modern story of Samburesti wine can only begin aristocratically: Vintila Bratianu, a nobleman of noble lineage and one of the most important politicians Romania has ever had, proud of his vineyards, invited August Joseph Ville, one of the most renowned French oenologists, to his estate in Samburesti. To his surprise, Ville warmly recommended him to clear all the vines and replace them with noble French varieties. Faced with this impossible decision, the great statesman proves, even now, his flair: he begins replanting the estate. After only a few years, his decision was rewarded with a gold medal at the 1926 Paris Universal Exhibition. Thus began the legend of Samburesti wine in the world, a legend that restarts today. In 2005, Jean Valvis, the architect of the Dorna and LaDorna brands, took over the Samburesti vineyard and revived the traditions of the place.
The Chateau Valvis range brings together splendid premium wines, obtained through traditional and modern winemaking technologies, all to make the wines shine in the glass.
