This is a special and complex wine. Dealu Mare is one of the most famous wine regions in Romania, known for its rich soil and favorable climatic conditions for growing vines.

Merlot Rose is obviously obtained from Merlot grapes, by lightly pressing the grape berries and contacting the skins for a shorter period of time, compared to a regular red wine. The subsequent barrique aging adds an extra layer of complexity and aromas to the wine.

Barrique aged rosé wines have a pale pink color, a richer texture and more complex aromas due to the aging in wooden barrels. This process brings aromas of vanilla, spices and subtle hints of wood into the wine.

In the case of this Merlot Rose barrique you will find aromas of berries such as strawberries, cherries or raspberries, accompanied by subtle hints of vanilla and spices, all integrated into a balanced taste profile. The acidity is fresh and well balanced, and the structure of the wine is velvety and round due to the barrique aging.

About the producer

Beyond its purpose as a place of prayer, the "Saint Mary" Monastery - Jercalai, belonging to the Archdiocese of Bucharest, has the special mission of producing liturgical wine. The grapes come both from its own plantation (42 ha, of which 30 are on fruit), and from the vineyards of the Chitorani and Ceptura monasteries, totaling 48 hectares. The "Via Domnului" Cooperative was founded in 2009 within the Agricultural, Viticultural and Forestry Sector of the Archdiocese of Bucharest and operates as a commercial company that pays taxes, with over 50 employees. In order to provide support and a workplace for employees. The Cooperative has turned to the "secular" market and produces premium wines - barrique and aromatic.
