Followfood MSC White tuna fillets in olive oil ECO

Albacore tuna has been fished in Fiji since the early 1980s. Today, it accounts for 65% of the national tuna catch in Fiji and is therefore of particular economic importance for the island nation. The amount of tuna, especially in the western and eastern Pacific, has remained constant for years. And to ensure that it stays that way, the amount fished each year is below the value required for the sustainable conservation of stocks.

The special management and special training for followfood fishermen continue to contribute to the protection of endangered, threatened or protected species in the fishing areas.

About the producer

It started in 2007. Jürg Knoll and Harri Butsch came to the conviction that industrial food production could not continue at this rate. So they decided to completely transform their business, relying exclusively on sustainable food and transparent processing methods.

It started with followfish, with the aim and vision of saving the seas. The mission struck a chord with many people and quickly made followfish the most successful brand of frozen fish. However, it also confirmed their determination to continue working on their visions of a better world. So it continued with followfood and the vision of saving the soil.

In the meantime, there are over 90 sustainable frozen, canned and fresh products, as well as numerous ecological projects and activities.
