It is a sugar obtained from the sap of coconut flowers, being largely composed of sucrose, which gives it a sweet aroma, similar to caramel.

Although the first impulse would be to think that it comes from the fruits of the tree, the coconuts, in fact the sugar is extracted from the nectar of the coconut flowers. It is unrefined and goes through a fairly simple processing process, which allows the preservation of all nutrients, vitamins and minerals.

Coconut sugar is a tasty sugar, with a caramelized aroma. This sugar lends itself well to desserts, in toppings and any recipe that requires sweetening, giving it a strong aroma. You can use it to sweeten coffee, tea, to make biscuits and desserts. Having a low glycemic index, coconut sugar can also be used by diabetics.
