Grimbergen Double – Ambrée is an abbey beer of the Ambrée type, with a warm, trustworthy personality. Things are not rushed when it comes to Grimbergen, but rather carefully contemplated and savoured.
Their beer recipe, known for the quality hops used (Gatinais hops), has also stood the test of time, becoming a refreshing drink with an unparalleled character. The character and special blend of several types of malt give Grimbergen Double Ambrée beer a pleasantly aromatic taste, with a final note of prunes and malt.
Authentic, unique and complex due to its distinct aromas, the Phoenix beer gives rise to unexpected flavours.
Ingredients: Water, barley malt, glucose syrup, sugar, flavoured caramel, hops.
Instructions for use
Recommended to be consumed cold.
About the producer
The Phoenix has marked civilisations throughout time. The Persians, Greeks and Romans considered it a symbol of rebirth and serenity. For hundreds of years, its mystical powers have inspired people who yearned for freedom and sought to find themselves. Originating as early as 1128, its name is strongly linked to the founding, by Saint Norbert, of the Abbey of Grimbergen, near Brussels. Destroyed in a devastating fire for the first time in 1142, then in 1566 and 1798, the Abbey was rebuilt each time. The monks of Grimbergen adopted the symbol of the Phoenix to emphasise the struggle to preserve the authentic values of the monastery, despite the many devastating fires, and adopted a motto in its honour: “Ardet nec consumitur” / “Burnt, but not destroyed”.
