Equinox Red Dry Wine Luchineasa 2019

Blend, dry red wine. Varieties 50% Rara Neagra and 50% Shiraz. Harvest 2019. Alcohol - 14.5%.
The wine was aged in oak barrels for 6 months. Olanesti Hills, Purcari. The wine impresses with an elegant and balanced structure. The nose is dominated by aromas of ripe black fruits, vanilla, brioche and chocolate. A memorable aftertaste, slightly spicy and fruity.

Serving recommendations

Serving temperature 14°C- 17°C.
Food pairings: Spicy pizza, duck, lamb, veal dishes. Burgers.

After opening, leave the bottle for 10 minutes to aerate.

About the producer

The Equinox story began in the early 2000s, when the founder, Contantin Stratan, a winemaker by profession, fascinated by nature, set out to create the first organic wines in the Republic of Moldova. The concept of organic wines started from the idea of creating a wine produced without much human involvement. His project was successful. Thus, each year, the producer of the Equinox brand lets nature contribute more to the production of sensational wines. The plantations are not sprayed with chemicals or insecticides. No heavy machinery is used that would damage the plantations. The grapes are harvested by hand.

Equinox wines contain a small amount of sulphites or none at all. White and orange wines contain no sulphites! How do they manage to resist? How did they resist two hundred years ago? Also, due to his talent and hard work, the creator of red wines is considered the "God of red wines from Moldova". Throughout his career as a winemaker, Constantin Stratan has provided consultancy for several wineries that wanted to conquer the market with memorable red wines.

The vineyards of this small winery of only 5.5 ha are located in the village of Olanesti, in the Purcari area - a region suitable for exceptional wines. In these 5 ha, 8 varieties of red grapes are planted: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Rara Neagra, Carménère, Shiraz, Malbec, Feteasca Neagra, Saperavi and Babeasca Gri. Today, the Crama Domneasca winery is part of the Association of Small Wine Producers of Moldova (AMPVM) and produces approximately 12,000 bottles annually.

With a history of over 10 years and a well-established production, Equinox brand wines are unique in the Republic of Moldova, they are ecological wines. Equinox wines hold local and international eco certificates. The wines are exported to Japan, Romania, Poland, Germany, the Netherlands, Canada and China. In 2019, Bacchus - wine magazine from Quebec awarded the Equinox  2014 Merlot wine with 90 points.

Constantin Stratan, the author of these wines, says that he has always had the desire to start his own business, especially since he had studies in the field and many beautiful ideas that could give birth to different wines. The first cuttings were planted in 2002, and since then the areas cultivated with vines have gradually expanded.
