Finlandia is a vodka brand created in 1970 by Alko, a company owned by the Finnish government.
The brand currently belongs to the Brown-Forman group, and the production follows the same recipe and methods that made Finlandia the first Scandinavian vodka brand exported to the United States in the 1970s. Finlandia is produced with cold and clear water from prehistoric glacial moraine, sun, which lingers in the sky for 72 days, and barley from Suomi, grown where no other barley can grow. In the cold landscape of the north of the country, the locals produce with dedication a drink that requires over 200 distillation stages that span 50 hours. After distillation, the pure, strong alcohol is calmed by cold water from the Rajamaki glacial spring to offer the world the vodka that bears the name Finlandia.
