Chinese cabbage.
Chinese cabbage surprises you with its delicate taste and especially with its succulence. Beijing cabbage leaves have a large, whitish central rib and have a sweet taste, similar to that of celery.
Use
Chinese cabbage is mainly used in salads, both salty and sweet, with fruits. It can also be enjoyed fried, stewed, or in the oven with meat dishes, potatoes, vegetables, fish, mushrooms. It tempers the taste of any dish, especially sausages. It can also be added to soup, omelet, in the filling for duck, chicken and other birds. In Asian cuisine, it is mainly used in rice and meat mixtures.
Our tip: Spicy Chinese cabbage
Put two tablespoons of oil in a pan and heat it, then add chopped garlic and fry for half a minute. Add the finely chopped onion together with half a glass of water and boil for about five minutes, then add the chopped tomatoes and peppers. Add the coconut milk, soy sauce, chili flakes and stir. Cut the Chinese cabbage into strips and add to the pan.
Mix well and season with salt and pepper. Leave on the heat in the existing sauce until the leaves soften and the juice in the pan reduces to the desired consistency.
Serve hot with turmeric basmati rice.
