About the producer

Matusalem is a rum brand produced in the Dominican Republic. Its history begins in 1872, in Cuba, when Don Facundo Bacardí Massó created a new style of rum, known as "aged rum". This style of rum was matured in oak barrels, which gave it a more complex taste and aroma. In 1922, the Bacardí company was forced to leave Cuba, due to the Cuban Revolution. However, the Matusalem brand was bought by a group of Dominican investors, who continued to produce the rum in the Dominican Republic. Today, Matusalem is one of the most popular rum brands in the world. The Matusalem product range includes rums of different ages, from 7 years to 23 years.
