Bauernspeck Alto Adige is a special and exclusive delicacy, available in limited quantities. The meat comes from pigs raised with sustainable techniques on small farms in South Tyrol and fed with selected feed. The result is a particularly tender Speck, so much so that it melts in the mouth, but at the same time has the right consistency.
About the producer
At the beginning of his career, Franz Senfter attended the Faculty of Business, but went on to learn the butcher's trade and took over his father's business. When he noticed that the rapidly developing tourist industry in South Tyrol was very receptive to Speck Alto Adige and was waiting to conclude business partnerships, he expanded his production of Speck Alto Adige. Through modern technology, Franz Senfter laid the foundation for standardization and quality assurance in their bed.
Slowly but surely, he built up a stable network throughout Italy. Entering the German market brought about significant changes for the company: in the German consumer habit of consuming smoked meat products, Speck Alto Adige was even more attractive there than it was in Italy. Today, Grandi Salumifici Italiani Agis is one of the largest companies in the meat production sector in Italy and the largest producer of speck in South Tyrol.
