Composition.

The active substances are: xylometazoline hydrochloride and dexpanthenol. 100 ml solution contains xylometazoline hydrochloride 0.1 g and dexpanthenol 5 g. One puff of 0.1 ml solution (equivalent to 0.1 g) contains xylometazoline hydrochloride 0.1 mg and dexpanthenol 5 mg. The other components are: benzalkonium chloride (as a 50% solution), potassium dihydrogen phosphate, disodium hydrogen phosphate dodecahydrate, purified water.

Therapeutic indications.

Nasic is a nasal spray.

The active substance, xylometazoline, has vasoconstrictive activity, thus decongesting the nasal mucous membranes. The second active substance contained in Nasic, dexpanthenol, is a derivative of pantothenic acid, a vitamin that promotes wound healing and protects mucous membranes.

Nasic is used for the reduction of nasal mucosal congestion associated with rhinitis and to promote the healing of skin and mucosal lesions, for the treatment of vasomotor rhinitis, and for the treatment of impaired nasal breathing after nasal surgery.

Dosage and administration.

Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the recommended dose for adults and children over 6 years of age is 1 puff in each nostril, up to 3 times a day (as needed), holding the bottle vertically and inhaling through the nose while actuating the spray.

Dosage depends on individual sensitivity and clinical response.

Do not use Nasic for more than 7 days, unless your doctor recommends it. A break of several days is required before reusing it.

The doctor should always be consulted regarding the duration of treatment in children. Prolonged or frequent use of Nasic can lead to chronic inflammation and, eventually, atrophy of the nasal mucosa.

Precautions.

Before using Nasic, talk to your doctor or pharmacist if:

- you are taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAO inhibitors) or other medicines with a high potential to raise blood pressure,

- you have high intraocular pressure, especially narrow-angle glaucoma,

- you suffer from severe cardiovascular diseases (e.g., coronary artery disease, high blood pressure (hypertension)),

- you have an adrenal gland tumor (pheochromocytoma),

- you suffer from metabolic diseases (e.g., thyroid gland disorder (hyperthyroidism), diabetes),

- if you suffer from the metabolic disease called porphyria

Special warnings.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

Nasic should not be used during pregnancy as there is insufficient data regarding the administration of xylometazoline hydrochloride in pregnant women.

Nasic should not be used by breastfeeding mothers as it is not known whether xylometazoline hydrochloride is excreted in breast milk.

Driving and using machines

If used as prescribed, Nasic has no influence on the ability to drive or use machines.

Packaging. Box with a brown glass bottle containing 10 ml nasal spray, solution, equipped with a spray pump (fixed), with a protective cap.
