* standardized extracts
Linden
It has a calming and relaxing effect and supports natural sleep. It is successfully used in cases of agitation, anxiety and hyperactivity or in patients with symptoms of somatization of anxiety. It is widely used in pediatrics because it does not have adverse effects typical of synthetic anxiolytics, such as dependence, daytime drowsiness.
Chamomile
It has anxiolytic, sedative and antispasmodic effects due to apigenin, promoting sleep in children. At night it induces a restorative sleep, and during the day it helps to reduce irritability and nervousness.
California poppy
The sedative and analgesic effect is due to protopine, the main alkaloid, while the phytocomplex in California poppy partially inhibits the activity of enzymes that degrade endorphins, thus stimulating the biological action of enkephalins and beta-endorphins.
Clinical studies have also shown that its hydroalcoholic extracts inhibit the enzymatic degradation of catecholamines and the synthesis of adrenaline, as well as the activity of dopamine-beta-hydroxylase, monoamine oxidase B and diamine oxidase, maintaining an increased level of catecholamines in the brain, without causing a feeling of fatigue upon waking.
Passion flower
It is effective in treating agitation. Due to flavonoids and alkaloids, it has sedative, anxiolytic and antispasmodic properties.
Studies indicate that it may affect gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) receptors in the brain.
