Composition

The active substances are prednisolone and neomycin sulfate. One gram of ointment contains 2.5 mg prednisolone and 5 mg neomycin sulfate. The other components are: white petrolatum, yellow wax, fish oil, anhydrous lanolin.

Therapeutic indications

Neopreol is a medicine recommended for cutaneous application and combines two substances:

• Neomycin sulfate (with antimicrobial properties) with a synthetic glucocorticoid;
• Prednisolone (with anti-inflammatory action).

Neopreol is recommended for: localized first and second-degree burns, chronic late ulcerated radiodermatitis, without slough, and dermatitis superinfected with bacteria sensitive to neomycin, including atopic and contact dermatitis.

Dosage and administration

Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. Neopreol is intended for external use only.

Apply a thin layer of ointment to the affected area, repeating the administration 3 - 4 times a day.

Do not use Neopreol on large areas and do not exceed 8 days of treatment.

Precautions

During prolonged or repeated administration of Neopreol, allergic reactions may occur at the application site. The presence of prednisolone does not prevent possible allergic manifestations due to neomycin, but it can influence their clinical manifestation. Discontinue treatment at the first signs of allergy. Do not use this medicine for a long period of time, on large skin areas, under an occlusive dressing, or in flexural areas.

This may increase the likelihood of adverse reactions.

Do not use Neopreol for more than 8 days.

Avoid contact with eyes or mucous membranes.
