Composition.
The active substance is: N-butyl scopolammonium bromide. One suppository contains 10.0 mg N-butyl scopolammonium bromide. The other ingredients are: liquid paraffin; semi-synthetic glycerides and anhydrous colloidal silicon dioxide.
Therapeutic indications.
USCOSIN is used as symptomatic medication in case of:
- gastrointestinal, biliary and urogenital spastic conditions;
- various colics (for example renal colic, biliary colic), uterine spasms, cystitis, dysmenorrhea.
Dosage and method of administration.
Always use this medicine exactly as described in the leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Adults: the recommended dose is 1 USCOSIN suppository administered rectally, 3 - 4 times a day.
Precautions.
If you have gastroesophageal reflux, be careful when using USCOSIN because its administration can worsen the condition by inhibiting gastric peristalsis and relaxing the cardia.
If you have open-angle glaucoma, caution is recommended when using USCOSIN. If you are over 40 years old, caution is recommended when using USCOSIN, due to the risk of worsening an undiagnosed glaucoma.
Special warnings.
Pregnancy, breastfeeding and fertility
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine. USCOSIN should be used with caution during pregnancy and only after your doctor has assessed the maternal benefit-potential risk to the fetus. USCOSIN should not be used during breastfeeding.
Driving and using machines
USCOSIN may cause visual accommodation disorders.
