THERAFLU MAX COLD & COUGH 10 SACHETS

Composition

The active substances are paracetamol, phenylephrine hydrochloride and guaifenesin. Each single-dose sachet contains 1000 mg paracetamol, 12.2 mg phenylephrine hydrochloride (corresponding to 10 mg phenylephrine base) and 200 mg guaifenesin. The other ingredients are: sugar (sucrose), sodium citrate, anhydrous citric acid, tartaric acid, lemon flavour assortments, lemon flavour (containing butylated hydroxyanisole (E 320)), menthol flavour powder, acesulfame potassium, aspartame (E 951), quinoline yellow (E 104).

Therapeutic indications

Theraflu Max cold and cough should only be used by adults, the elderly and adolescents aged 16 years and over.

Theraflu Max cold and cough should ONLY be used if you have ALL of the following symptoms: pain and/or fever, blocked nose and chesty, productive cough. You should consult a doctor or pharmacist if you do not feel better or if you feel worse after 3 days or if your cough is accompanied by a high fever, a rash or a persistent headache.

Theraflu Max cold and cough contains three active ingredients:

• Paracetamol is an active substance that reduces pain (analgesic) and reduces fever (lowers your body temperature when you have a fever).
• Phenylephrine hydrochloride is a nasal decongestant. It unblocks your nose and helps you breathe more easily by reducing swelling in your sinuses.
• Guaifenesin is an expectorant that thins mucus (phlegm), making your chesty, productive cough more productive.

Dosage and method of administration

Adults, the elderly and adolescents aged 16 years and over, weighing 50 kg and over:

The recommended dose is one sachet every 4 - 6 hours, as needed.

Do not take more than 3 sachets (3 doses) in any 24 hour period (equivalent to 3000 mg paracetamol, 36.6 mg phenylephrine hydrochloride and 600 mg guaifenesin).

Do not use for more than 3 days.

Do not exceed the recommended dose.

Theraflu Max cold and cough should not be used by people weighing less than 50 kg (adults, the elderly and adolescents aged 16 years and over).

Precautions

It is important that Theraflu Max cold and cough is only used if you have all of the following symptoms: pain and/or fever, blocked nose and chesty cough.

Contains paracetamol. DO NOT take with any other medicines that contain paracetamol.

Do not drink alcohol while taking this medicine.

Do not use with any other cough, cold or decongestant remedies.

Special warnings

Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

Driving and using machines

This medicine may cause dizziness. If you experience dizziness, do not drive or operate machinery.
