EGIS AMBROXOL 30MG X 20 TABLETS

Composition. The active substance is ambroxol. One tablet contains 30 mg ambroxol hydrochloride. The other ingredients are: lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, povidone K 30, sodium starch glycolate type A, magnesium stearate.

Therapeutic indications. AMBROXOL EGIS 30 mg tablets are indicated as a secretolytic therapy:

- in chronic bronchopulmonary diseases associated with abnormal mucus secretion and impaired mucus transport;

- in acute bronchial conditions and acute episodes of chronic bronchopneumopathy.

Also, AMBROXOL EGIS 30 mg tablets are indicated pre- and postoperatively.

Dosage and method of administration.

Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

Adults and children over 12 years old

The recommended dose is 1 Ambroxol Egis tablet 3 times a day (90 mg ambroxol hydrochloride per day), for the first 2-3 days; then the dose is reduced to 1 Ambroxol Egis tablet twice a day (60 mg ambroxol hydrochloride per day)

in case of severe renal failure, due to the accumulation of ambroxol metabolites resulting from liver metabolism, the maintenance dose should be reduced accordingly, and the interval between doses should be prolonged.

The tablets should be administered whole with liquids, after meals. The mucolytic effect is enhanced by fluid intake.

Follow these instructions unless your doctor recommends otherwise. If after 4-5 days of treatment the symptoms do not improve, it is necessary to consult your doctor for a reassessment of the treatment.

If you have the impression that the effect of Ambroxol Egis 30 mg tablets is too strong or too weak, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Precautions. before using ambroxol, talk to your doctor or pharmacist;

- if you suffer from gastroduodenal ulcer.

- if you have severe renal or hepatic impairment.

Serious skin reactions have been reported with ambroxol. If you develop a rash (including lesions of the mucous membranes of the mouth, throat, nose, eyes, genitals) stop taking Ambroxol Egis immediately and see your doctor immediately.

Special warnings.

Pregnancy, breastfeeding and fertility

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine. Animal studies have not shown a teratogenic effect. However, it is recommended not to administer ambroxol hydrochloride to pregnant women. Ambroxol is excreted in breast milk, so it is not recommended during breastfeeding.

Driving and using machines

Since, very rarely, headaches and dizziness have been described during treatment with Ambroxol Egis 30 mg tablets, caution is recommended in patients who drive vehicles or use machinery.

Ambroxol Egis contains lactose. If your doctor has told you that you have an intolerance to some sugars, please talk to your doctor before using this medicine.

Packaging. It is available in a box with 2 Al/PVC blisters of 10 tablets each.
