Composition
The active substance is minoxidil. The other ingredients are propylene glycol, ethanol 96%, purified water.
Therapeutic indications
This medicine is recommended in certain cases of so-called androgenic alopecia (excessive hair loss) in men, of moderate intensity.
It is not recommended for women due to the increased frequency of hypertrichosis (abnormal hair growth).
Dosage and method of administration
Always use ALOPEXY 5%, cutaneous solution according to the instructions in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The usual dose is 1 ml, applied twice a day to the area of the scalp to be treated.
The daily dose should not exceed 2 ml, regardless of the size of the area to be treated.
One application of 1 ml in the morning and 1 ml in the evening.
Do not increase the dose or frequency of application.
In all cases, strictly follow the dose.
The result does not appear immediately: stopping hair loss and/or restarting hair growth will only occur after a certain period of time after starting treatment. A two-month treatment with a frequency of two applications per day may be necessary before hair growth stimulation can be observed. The delay and degree of response vary from patient to patient.
If treatment is stopped, it is likely that the return to the initial state will occur within 3-4
months, depending on some observations.
Before and after applying the solution, wash your hands thoroughly.
Apply to perfectly dry hair and scalp.
Distribute the product with your fingertips over the entire surface to be treated, starting from the center of the area to be treated.
Do not apply the product to other parts of the body.
Precautions
- If you suffer or have suffered from cardiovascular disease, you should consult a doctor before using ALOPEXY 5%,
- The risk of hypertrichosis (abnormal hair growth) justifies the recommendation that this medicine should not be used by women.
