- Collect a fresh urine specimen in a clean and dry disposable container.
- In general, first morning urine specimens contain the highest concentration of HCG for early pregnancy detection. However, any urine specimen is suitable for testing.
- Specimens may be stored at room temperature for 8 hours. If the specimen cannot be tested immediately, it may be stored at 2-8C for 48h or at -20C for up to 18 months.
- Bring the urine specimen to room temperature before testing
Test procedure
Allow the test strip, urine specimen and/or controls to reach room temperature prior to testing.
- Remove the test strip from the sealed pouch and use it as soon as possible.
- Immerse the test strip into the urine specimen for at least 5 seconds with the arrow pointing towards the urine. Do not immerse the strip past the MAX line printed on it.
- Remove the strip and lay it flat on a non-absorbent surface. Or leave the test strip in the urine specimen as long as the strip is not immersed past the MAX line.
- Wait for the colored lines to appear. Read the results within 5 minutes. Do not read the result after 5 minutes.
Interpretation of results
Pregnancy: Two distinct pink lines appear, one in the test region (T) and one in the control region (C).
Not pregnant: Only one pink line appears in the control region. No pink line is visible in the test region.
Invalid: The control line fails to appear.
