Añejo Reserva is aged for a minimum of 12 months in a combination of French oak wine barrels, bourbon barrels and sherry casks. We masterfully blend these tequilas to create a luxurious, round and unique expression that showcases the rich chocolate and fruit flavors imparted by the sherry casks.
In the Komos tradition, this expression is crafted in Mexico using 100% perfectly ripe Weber Blue Agave, harvested by hand from the distinct soils of the highlands and lowlands of Jalisco’s Tequila Valley. The piñas are roasted in traditional stone ovens, and the aguamiel is naturally fermented and double distilled in copper pot stills. After a year of aging and careful blending, the liquid takes on the rich chocolate and fruit flavors from the sherry casks.
The finishing touch is gentle aeration: the winemaking technique of tumbling the liquid to pick up oxygen to make the liquid feel softer and smoother. The iconic bottle is handcrafted by artisans and designed to be recycled. The striking white ceramic evokes the beauty of the Mediterranean while preserving the flavors and aromas within.
