Like sugar peas, imperial peas or mangetout are among the varieties in which the whole pods are eaten, these being much flatter. Its pods are a bright, dark green, about 4-6 cm long. It is popular in Asian countries, especially in Chinese cuisine.
Use:
Mangetout can be eaten raw, but for a less sweet taste it is recommended to cook it. It is used in the preparation of soups and side dishes, served with rice, pasta or salads. It is also widely used in cold dishes and a common combination is peas with carrots or sweet corn kernels.
Tip: Prepare with us pasta with imperial peas, tomatoes and basil.
Boil the pasta in boiling salted water. Fry the washed pea pods in a pot over low heat for about 15 minutes, add salt and pepper. In the meantime, fry the sliced garlic in olive oil and add the cherry tomatoes. Fry the turkey fillets until golden brown in a hot pan, add salt and pepper. Once the pasta is cooked, add the butter and cream to it, mix well. Serve everything together with fresh basil leaves.
Enjoy your meal.
Storage:
Fresh peas have a very short shelf life, so you should eat them as soon as possible.
