Description
EspiFORTE, a medical device presented in the form of soft gelatin capsules for oral administration, contains simethicone, a substance with antifoaming properties. It disintegrates resistant foam bubbles which, in the intestine, are responsible for bloating, flatulence, or a feeling of fullness. The foam breaks down, gases are released and can be eliminated naturally. EspiFORTE, administered for gastrointestinal disorders caused by gas accumulation, helps through its purely physical mode of action.
EspiFORTE is used in:
- Symptomatic treatment of gastrointestinal disorders caused by gas accumulation; for example, bloating (meteorism) or flatulence, feeling of fullness.
- Preparation for diagnostic examinations; for example, radiography, ultrasonography, and endoscopy.
Dosage and method of use:
- For gastrointestinal disorders caused by gas accumulation:
Adults and adolescents over 14 years of age - 1 capsule (equivalent to 140 mg simethicone) 3-5 times/day.
EspiFORTE should be taken during or after meals. The capsules should be swallowed whole, with sufficient liquid (e.g., 1 glass of water).
- For preparation for diagnostic examinations:
Adults and adolescents over 14 years of age:
on the day before the examination: 2 capsules (equivalent to 280 mg simethicone)
on the morning of the examination: 1 capsule (equivalent to 140 mg simethicone)
