Mastrelle Flora Plus vaginal capsules is a product based on an active prebiotic complex, vitamins, and hyaluronic acid, which soothes pain, irritation, itching, and burning sensations caused by intimate infections.

How to use:
- supportive treatment in bacterial vaginosis and vaginal candidiasis: one vaginal capsule per day (before bedtime) for 7-10 days;
- prevention of recurrent bacterial infections: one vaginal capsule every 3 days (before bedtime);
- prevention of vaginal flora imbalance during antibiotic treatment: one vaginal capsule per day throughout the antibiotic treatment, and for another 7 days after the treatment is completed;
- maintaining a balanced vaginal pH and flora as a preventive measure: a single vaginal capsule per week;
- relief of symptoms manifested in postmenopausal atrophic vaginitis: one vaginal capsule every 3 days;
- rebalancing vaginal pH in case of hormonal imbalances occurring as a result of contraceptive use, during breastfeeding, or during stressful periods: one vaginal capsule per week;
- rebalancing vaginal pH after the menstrual cycle or after unprotected sexual intercourse: one vaginal capsule per day for two days, after each menstruation or after each unprotected sexual intercourse;

Candidiasis is a fungal infection caused by fungi, especially Candida albicans. A candida infection can be recognized by itching, burning sensation, redness, and white, granular discharge ("white discharge").
Bacterial vaginosis is a vaginal infection caused by pathogenic strains such as Gardnerella vaginalis and Trichomonas vaginalis. The most common symptoms consist of abundant, white-yellowish-grey discharge with an unpleasant "fishy" odor, which worsens after sexual intercourse. Irritation, itching, and pain during intercourse may occur.
Drug therapy for vaginal infections only aims to eradicate pathogenic microorganisms, but according to numerous studies, it has been found that despite the high cure rate in the first month after traditional treatment (70.5-80%), the recurrence rate of vaginal infections at 3 months after treatment is 50%, rising to 80% at 12 months after treatment. This happens because, along with the removal of pathogenic bacteria, lactobacilli are also removed, thus creating a favorable ground for reinfection with pathogenic microorganisms.
Therapy for vaginal infections should therefore not only aim to eradicate pathogens, but should also aim to restore the vaginal flora and pH, thereby restoring the physiological, natural defense mechanisms against pathogens.
Mastrelle Flora Plus vaginal capsules contain pure, carefully selected ingredients combined with vitamins and standardized plant extracts: bio-active prebiotic complex, D-xylitol, lactic acid, vitamins, hyaluronic acid, natural extracts of echinacea, chamomile, and wild chestnut.
D-xylitol selectively inhibits pathogens, while the prebiotic complex stimulates the growth of lactobacilli, a mechanism also supported by vitamin C and lactic acid by lowering the vaginal pH and restoring physiological conditions for the development of lactobacilli. This restores the protective biofilm, preventing the growth of pathogenic bacteria and Candida-type fungi. Vitamin E and hyaluronic acid form a film with moisturizing and regenerating properties, resulting in the relief of itching, irritation, and burning.
Furthermore, according to the clinical study evaluating the efficacy of Mastrelle Flora Plus, conducted between 2017-2019 on women with vaginitis and/or vaginal candidiasis, a 70.2% reduction in the number of recurrences was observed.
Why vaginal capsules?
The considerations based on which the vaginal capsule form was selected were of a technological nature (stability of active substances) and therapeutic nature (product efficacy). The use of Vcaps, special capsules for vaginal administration, facilitates a short disintegration and release time of the active substances of just a few minutes. Vcaps capsules are not absorbed, being biologically inert.
