Materials needed, but not supplied
- Watch or stopwatch
- Sample container
Sample collection
- Collect a fresh urine sample using a clean and dry disposable container.
- Generally, morning samples contain the highest concentration of HCG for early pregnancy detection. However, any urine sample is suitable for testing.
- Samples can be stored at room temperature for 8 hours. If the sample cannot be tested immediately, it can be stored at 2-8°C for 48 hours or at -20°C for up to 18 months.
- Bring the urine sample to room temperature before testing
Testing procedure
Allow the test strip, urine sample, and/or controls to reach room temperature before performing the test.
- Remove the test strip from the sealed pouch and use it as soon as possible.
- Immerse the test strip in the urine sample for at least 5 seconds with the arrow pointing towards the urine. Do not immerse the strip beyond the printed MAX line.
- Remove the strip and place it on a flat surface. Or leave the test strip in the urine sample as long as the strip is not immersed beyond the MAX line.
- Wait for the pink colored lines to appear. Read the results within the first 5 minutes. Do not read the result after 5 minutes.
Interpretation of results
Pregnancy present: Two distinct pink lines appear, one in the test region (T) and one in the control region (C).
No pregnancy: Only one pink line appears in the control region. No variable pink line appears in the test region.
Invalid: The control line does not appear.
