About the producer
Basilescu Winery is the oldest winery in Dealu Mare, with a history and tradition of over 100 years. And as any great creation is born from a divine feeling, Basilescu wines have woven their origin from the beautiful love story between the young Aristide Basilescu and the young lady Aglae Saint Georges de Posingen, a descendant of a family documented since 400 AD. Their love was a blessing for the viticultural activity in Urlati. During that period, they started collaborating with the Capsa restaurant and Maison de Champagne St. Marceaux & Co. The wines obtained from the Urlati vineyard were also used in the production of the famous Nicolae Basilescu & St. Marceaux & Co. Champagne.
