Rapunzel ECO Dates with Stone in Tray

Rapunzel organic dates in a tray have a unique sweetness and a honey and caramel aroma that deserves to be appreciated. The fruits have a golden brown color and with each bite you will notice that they are particularly juicy and fleshy. The production of dates comes from our partner in Tunisia within the fair trade project Rapunzel HAND in HAND HIH. These sweet and aromatic fruits are a real pleasure.

A desert delicacy

The date palm (Phoenix dactylifera), which can reach up to 25-30 m in height, is the most important tree found in the oases of Africa and southwest Asia. In the past, this tree ensured the survival of the desert dwellers and caravans. Even today, dates are considered a staple food in North Africa.
There are about 300 types of dates, which can be distinguished between the following types of varieties: soft variety, semi-dry variety and dry variety.

One of the most aromatic varieties of dates is “Deglet Nouri”. This organic date is distinguished by its light consistency and due to its strong sweetness, it shines in front of other types of dates with an unusually wide range of flavors. The date has a remarkable content of calcium, iron, phosphorus and magnesium. It offers a significant energy intake and aids digestion. They can be used in muesli, pastries, desserts. To obtain the best organic dates, they only need to be washed after harvesting and pasteurized with water vapor.
