Deltaica Carp Roe Salad

It is the most representative product of the Danube Delta, being a must-have at all the fishing feasts in the area.

The original recipe is Greek (taramasalata) and was valued by the Greek population in the Dobrogea area, but being adapted like other products to local ingredients, namely carp and pike roe, found in abundance in that area. The method was taken over and improved by all the inhabitants of the Delta, especially the inhabitants of Sulina, Tulcea, Sf. Gheorghe and Chilia, the newly adapted recipe is clearly superior in flavor to the original recipe.
