About the producer

The history of Ursus Breweries in Romania begins in 1996 when the South African Breweries company bought Vulturul Buzau. A year later, it acquired Pitber Pitesti and Ursus S.A Cluj-Napoca. In 2001, it bought the majority stake in Bere Timisoreana S.A. Starting with 2002, Ursus S.A and Timisoreana S.A merged into a single integrated company, called Compania de Bere Romania S.A. In 2005, the new name of SABMiller's operations in Romania becomes Ursus Breweries.

On March 31, 2017 Asahi Group Holdings Ltd. completed the acquisition of the former SABMiller operations in Central and Eastern Europe, including Ursus Breweries.
