About the producer

The story began in 2003, when oenologist Aurelia Visinescu founded the company Domeniile Sahateni together with her associate and cousin by marriage, Steve Cacenco.
In love with nature, during her final years of study at the University of Horticulture, Aurelia Visinescu chose to study oenology, fascinated by the story behind Bacchus's drink.
Following her passion for wine, the results of her work were not long in coming – the dream of having her own winery and her own vineyards.
Today, the Domeniile Sahateni winery brings together 82 ha of vineyards and a winemaking unit with a capacity of 1,000,000 bottles per season.

''In a glass of wine, you can read more than a story, my story as an oenologist that begins with a love for nature. When you love nature and the vine, you give it your best, and it rewards you generously.
My steps led me to the New World where wine is made with innovation and scientific research. The more than 20 years that have passed since I finished wine school have complemented my knowledge of chemistry and microbiology with an essential experience of taste and smell for good wines. I cultivated my passion, dreaming that one day I would cultivate my own vineyard. And as the truth lies in wine, the dream became reality.

At Sahateni, I rely on people who have worked in the vineyard their whole lives. Here we make wine for people like us, who do their job with skill, rigor, and passion, people who know where they want to go. We are not building a perfect, sweet story or one rooted in non-existent traditions, or one that promises secret knowledge of wine. It is a field that depends on the grace of nature, but evolves through the people who dedicate their soul, excellence, and innovation to it. Wine is what we offer best, every year, from our vineyard.

This is my creed, and it is found in every bottle of wine.''
