Defumoxan 1.5 mg tablets from Aflofarm are designed to help you reduce nicotine cravings and permanently quit smoking. This over-the-counter treatment includes 100 tablets, which is just enough for a full 25-day cycle. You simply take them orally with water according to a gradual schedule, and you must stop smoking completely by the fifth day of the treatment.
Description
Reduction of nicotine craving in smokers who wish to quit smoking / permanent cessation of nicotine-containing product use.
Method of administration:
Dosage: One box of Defumoxan (100 tablets) is sufficient for a complete treatment cycle. Duration: 25 days.
Treatment schedule:
Days 1-3
1 tablet every 2 hours
6 tablets
Days 4-12
1 tablet every 2.5 hours
5 tablets
Days 13-16
1 tablet every 3 hours
4 tablets
Days 17-20
1 tablet every 5 hours
3 tablets
Days 21-25
1 - 2 tablets per day
Up to 2 tablets
Smoking must be stopped by day 5 of treatment at the latest.
Do not smoke during treatment, as this could worsen side effects (see section 4.4 of the leaflet). In case of treatment failure, treatment must be interrupted and can only be resumed after 2 - 3 months.
Special patient groups: (hepatic insufficiency, renal insufficiency) There is no clinical experience regarding the use of Defumoxan in patients with renal or hepatic insufficiency, therefore the use of the medicine is not recommended in these patient groups.
Elderly: Due to limited clinical experience, the use of Defumoxan is not recommended in elderly patients over 65 years of age.
Children and adolescents: The safety and efficacy of Defumoxan in individuals under 18 years of age have not yet been established. The use of Defumoxan is not recommended in individuals under 18 years of age.
Defumoxan should be taken orally with an adequate amount of water.
