Contractubex is used for the treatment of various types of scars, after the lesions have healed.
Contractubex acts to stop the proliferation of scar tissue and has a flattening and decontracting effect on this tissue. It also reduces redness, heat, inflammation, and pain (anti-inflammatory).
Contractubex is indicated for patients with scars that limit movement, hypertrophic, keloid scars (scars that are thickened, raised, and sometimes colored differently from the surrounding skin), disfiguring post-operative scars, after amputations, burns, and accidents; after contractures such as Dupuytren's contracture (hand contracture) and traumatic tendon contractures, as well as atrophic scars (scars that form depressions or wrinkles in the skin).
Ingredients:
- The active substances are: sodium heparin 5000 IU, liquid onion extract 10 g, allantoin 1 g per 100 g gel.
- The other components are: sorbic acid, methyl p-hydroxybenzoate, Xanthan gum, macrogol 200, fragrance composition 231616, purified water.
Method of administration:
Always use Contractubex exactly as described in this leaflet. You should
discuss with your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure.
Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is one application several times a day, and the
scar tissue is gently massaged until the gel is completely absorbed. If the scars are hard and old,
Contractubex should be left to act overnight under a bandage.
Children:
As the efficacy and tolerability of Contractubex in children under 1 year of age are not known, the use of Contractubex in this category is not recommended.
In children over 1 year of age, Contractubex can be used, 1-2 applications per day, at the express indication
of the doctor and only if they consider that the benefits outweigh the potential risks.
