Composition
The active substances are: racemic potassium hydrogen aspartate hemihydrate and racemic magnesium aspartate tetrahydrate. One tablet contains racemic potassium hydrogen aspartate hemihydrate 180 mg (equivalent to 39 mg potassium) and racemic magnesium aspartate tetrahydrate 180 mg (equivalent to 12 mg magnesium). The other components are: microcrystalline cellulose, anhydrous colloidal silicon dioxide, hydrogenated vegetable oil, sodium stearyl fumarate, sodium carmellose.
Therapeutic indications
Aspacardin belongs to the group of medicines called mineral supplements, potassium-containing medicines. It acts on the heart and blood vessels and is used as adjuvant therapy in adults for coronary heart disease (heart blood vessel disease), in certain cardiac rhythm disorders, and for the prevention of cardiac rhythm disorders that may occur after treatment with certain medicines called cardiac glycosides.
Contraindications/Warnings
Take special care when using Aspacardin
- if you have renal insufficiency, your doctor will monitor your plasma potassium and magnesium concentrations;
- in case of associated calcium deficiency, it is recommended, as a first measure, to correct the magnesium deficiency before starting calcium use;
- in case of urinary infections, these must be cured before starting magnesium treatment.
Dosage and method of administration
Always use Aspacardin exactly as your doctor has told you. You should discuss
with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
This medicine is administered only to adults; the recommended dose is 1 - 2 Aspacardin tablets taken orally, 2 - 3 times a day. Take the tablet with sufficient liquid.
Special warnings
Consult your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine.
Do not use Aspacardin during pregnancy. If you are breastfeeding, do not take Aspacardin. Due to magnesium's effect of relaxing uterine muscles, Aspacardin is contraindicated during childbirth.
Driving vehicles and operating machinery
Aspacardin does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and operate machinery.

Aspacardin tablets are packed in a box with 3 PVC-PVDC/Al blisters, each containing 10 tablets.
