1. What is Lagosa and what is it used for
It is used in cases of exposure to substances with hepatotoxic risk.
2. What you need to know before using Lagosa
Do not use Lagosa:
- If you are allergic to silymarin or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
Warnings and precautions:
If you have hereditary galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency (Lapp)
If you have glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome
If you have hereditary fructose intolerance
If you have sucrose-isomaltase insufficiency.
Lagosa with other medicines:
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines.
Lagosa with food, drink and alcohol.
Lagosa can be taken with or without food.
The dragees should be swallowed with a small amount of liquid.
Pregnancy, breastfeeding and fertility
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
Pregnancy
You should tell your doctor if you are (or could become) pregnant. Your doctor will normally advise you to stop taking Lagosa before you become pregnant or as soon as you know you are pregnant.
Breast-feeding
Tell your doctor if you are breast-feeding or want to start breast-feeding.
Lagosa is not recommended in breast-feeding mothers.
Driving and using machines
Lagosa does not affect the ability to drive or use machines.
Lagosa contains lactose and sugar.
If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, please contact your doctor before taking this medicine.
3. How to use Lagosa
Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The usual recommended dose is 300 mg silymarin (2 Lagosa dragees) per day. The dragees should be swallowed with a small amount of liquid.
If you use more Lagosa than you should.
If you have accidentally taken too many dragees, or a child has swallowed some dragees, contact your doctor or the nearest hospital immediately. In case of overdose, symptomatic treatment is recommended. There is no specific antidote for silymarin overdose.
If you forget to use Lagosaa take the daily dose, take the next dose as usual. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.
If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
4. How to store Lagosa
Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children. Store below 25ºC, in the original package.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton after EXP. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to throw away medicines you no longer use. These measures will help protect the environment.
5. Package contents and other information
What Lagosa contains:
- The active substance is silymarin. Each dragee contains silymarin 150 mg in the form of dry methanolic extract of milk thistle fruit (Carduus marianus fructus) 240 mg;
- The other ingredients are: core - lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, colloidal silicon dioxide, croscarmellose sodium type A, povidone K30, talc, magnesium stearate, solid fat; coating - shellac, sugar, calcium carbonate, talc, gum arabic, corn starch, titanium dioxide (E 171), colloidal silicon dioxide, povidone K30, macrogol 6000, glycerol 85%, polysorbate 80, montan glycol wax.

Lagosa are shiny white, biconvex dragees, with a smooth, homogeneous surface.
Lagosa is available in boxes with a blister containing 25 dragees.
