Composition.
The active substance is: N-butylscopolammonium bromide. One suppository contains 10.0 mg N-butylscopolammonium bromide. The other components are: liquid paraffin; semi-synthetic glycerides and anhydrous colloidal silicon dioxide.
Therapeutic indications.
USCOSIN is used as symptomatic medication in cases of:
¿ gastrointestinal, biliary and urogenital spastic conditions;
- Various colics (e.g., renal colic, biliary colic), uterine spasms, cystitis, dysmenorrhea.
Dosage and administration.
Always use this medicine exactly as described in the leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Discuss with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Adults: the recommended dose is 1 USCOSIN suppository administered rectally, 3 - 4 times a day.
Precautions.
If you have gastroesophageal reflux, be careful when using USCOSIN as its administration may worsen the condition by inhibiting gastric peristalsis and relaxing the cardia.
If you have open-angle glaucoma, caution is recommended when using USCOSIN. If you are over 40 years old, caution is recommended when using USCOSIN, due to the risk of worsening an undiagnosed glaucoma.
Special warnings.
Pregnancy, breastfeeding and fertility
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine. The use of USCOSIN during pregnancy should be done with caution and only after your doctor has evaluated the maternal benefit-potential fetal risk ratio. The use of USCOSIN during breastfeeding is contraindicated.
Driving vehicles and operating machinery
The use of USCOSIN may result in visual accommodation disorders.
