Composition

The active substances are paracetamol, phenylephrine hydrochloride and guaifenesin. Each single-dose sachet contains 1000 mg paracetamol, 12.2 mg phenylephrine hydrochloride (equivalent to 10 mg phenylephrine base) and 200 mg guaifenesin. The other components are: sugar (sucrose), sodium citrate, anhydrous citric acid, tartaric acid, lemon flavour varieties, lemon flavour (containing butylhydroxyanisole (E 320)), menthol powder flavour, acesulfame potassium, aspartame (E 951), quinoline yellow (E 104).

Therapeutic indications

Theraflu Max cold and cough should only be used by adults, the elderly and adolescents aged 16 years and over.

Theraflu Max cold and cough should ONLY be used if you have ALL of the following symptoms: pain and/or fever, blocked nose and productive, chesty cough. You should consult your doctor or pharmacist if you do not feel better or if you feel worse after 3 days, or if the cough is accompanied by high fever, rash or persistent headache.

Theraflu Max cold and cough contains three active components:

• Paracetamol is an active substance that reduces pain (analgesic) and lowers fever (reduces body temperature when you have a fever).
• Phenylephrine hydrochloride is a nasal decongestant. It unblocks the nose and helps you breathe more easily by reducing inflammation in the sinuses.
• Guaifenesin is an expectorant that thins mucus (phlegm), thus relieving productive, chesty cough.

Dosage and administration

Adults, the elderly and adolescents aged 16 years and over, weighing 50 kg and over:

The recommended dose is one sachet every 4 - 6 hours, as needed.

Do not take more than 3 sachets (3 doses) within a 24-hour period (corresponding to 3000 mg paracetamol, 36.6 mg phenylephrine hydrochloride and 600 mg guaifenesin).

Do not use for more than 3 days.

Do not exceed the recommended dose.

Theraflu Max cold and cough should not be used by people weighing less than 50 kg (adults, the elderly and adolescents aged 16 years and over).

Precautions

It is important that Theraflu Max cold and cough is used only if you have all of the following symptoms: pain and/or fever, blocked nose and chesty cough.

Contains paracetamol. DO NOT take at the same time as any other medicines containing paracetamol.

Do not consume alcoholic beverages while using this medicine.

Do not use together with any other medicine for the treatment of cough, cold or blocked nose.

Driving and using machines
