Do not use Loperamid LPH
- if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to loperamide hydrochloride or to any of the other components of Loperamid LPH;
- if you have blood in your stool, foul-smelling stools, or if you have a fever;
- if you have inflammation of the lower abdomen (e.g., ulcerative colitis or pseudomembranous colitis as a result of antibiotic use);
- if you have dysentery (a digestive disease caused by ingesting contaminated food and drinks) manifested by fever and the presence of blood in the feces;
- if you have diarrhea that occurred after antibiotic administration;
- if you are constipated, have a disease that can cause constipation, or if your doctor has told you that slowing down bowel activity should be avoided, for example;
- if you have paralysis or obstruction of the large intestine;
- if you have intolerance to certain categories of carbohydrates, unless your doctor has recommended it (this medicine contains lactose);
- if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, unless your doctor recommends it; - in children under 12 years of age (due to the pharmaceutical form and dosage).
Administration:
Adults
For sudden (acute) episodes, take 2 Loperamid LPH capsules once, then one Loperamid LPH capsule after each bowel movement. If you have a solid or hard stool or if 24 hours pass without a bowel movement, discontinue treatment.
However: Do not take more than 8 Loperamid LPH capsules within 24 hours!
Adolescents over 12 years of age
For sudden (acute) episodes of diarrhea, take one Loperamid LPH capsule, then continue with one Loperamid LPH capsule for each bowel movement. If the child has a solid or hard stool or if 24 hours pass without a bowel movement, discontinue treatment.
