Description
Composition. The active substances are: Centaurii herba (centaury), Levistici radix (lovage root), Rosmarini folium (rosemary leaf). One ml of oral drops, solution contains: extract (1:56) of 0.018 g mixture of Centaurii herba (centaury), Levistici radix (lovage root), Rosmarini folium (rosemary leaf) (1:1:1); extraction solvents: ethanol 59% (v/v), water. One ml of oral drops, solution contains 15 drops
Therapeutic indications.
It is used as supportive therapy to specific medication administered for mild symptoms of inflammatory diseases of the lower urinary tract and to prevent the formation of kidney stones in adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older
Dosage and method of administration.
The recommended dose is:
Adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older – 5 ml 3 times a day.
Precautions.
Do not use Canephron
- if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to centaury, lovage root, rosemary leaf, other plants of the Apiaceae (Umbelliferae) family (for example, anise, fennel), anethole (a component of anise and fennel essential oils) or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine
- if you have a gastric or duodenal ulcer;
- if you have inflammatory kidney diseases;
- if you have kidney failure.
- The administration of large amounts of fluids is contraindicated in case of swelling of the lower limbs due to impaired kidney or heart function.
Special warnings.
Pregnancy, breastfeeding and fertility
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine. As a precautionary measure, Canephron should not be used during pregnancy. It is not known whether Canephron or its active substances/metabolites are excreted in human milk. Canephron should not be used during breastfeeding.
Driving and using machines
No studies on the effects on the ability to drive and use machines have been performed.
Packaging. It is available in boxes containing an amber glass bottle of 100 ml oral drops, solution, fitted with a dropper and a screw cap with a tamper-evident ring, and a graduated measuring cup (5 ml)
