Brown (whole) rice has much higher qualities than the husked one: it contains the vitamin B complex (especially B6), vitamin E, magnesium, copper, iron, phosphorus, potassium, selenium, zinc, has more fiber and more essential unsaturated fatty acids. Whole rice has an optimal concentration of magnesium, and the presence of potassium is beneficial for reducing the acidity in the blood and for maintaining bone density.
