Black lentils or “beluga” have very small and black beans, with an exotic and exclusive appearance similar to caviar. It has a specific nutty taste and a sweet aroma. It is boiled and served plain, with your favorite spices and a little green onion, or as an essential ingredient in tasty dishes such as: soups, salads, rice dishes, curry, stews, sauces, or even as a filling for vegan sarmale.
It is very easy to cook, and soaking beforehand is optional (between 4 and 8 hours). The approximate cooking time is only 20 minutes. It is recommended to rinse the lentil beans before cooking them.
