ECO Avocado

Avocado is a species of plant in the laurel family. Botanically, it is considered a berry. The cultivation of avocados in tropical areas of the world, such as South and Central America, Southeast Asia and Africa, began more than 10,000 years ago. Today they also grow in subtropical areas, such as in southern Spain or in Israel. Hardly any other food is as versatile as the avocado. The energy content corresponds to 4 apples or 2 bananas. Thus, they provide the brain cells with a lot of energy, which in turn reduces stress. Due to the high content of vitamin B6 and folic acid, they are also considered to improve fertility. The vitamins A, B and E contained also stimulate the formation of new cells and slow down the aging process.

Use:
Probably the best-known recipe is guacamole, which finds lovers in the morning, at noon and in the evening. It can also be found in many other spreads, sushi, pasta, tacos and many other dishes.

Storage:
It is best to store ripe avocados in the vegetable compartment of the refrigerator at around 6 degrees Celsius, as they continue to ripen at room temperature. To prevent brown discoloration on cut surfaces, this can be prevented with a little lemon juice. The core also helps the avocado stay fresh longer.
