Composition
The active substances are: salicylic acid and lactic acid. Each ml of cutaneous solution contains 167 mg salicylic acid and 167 mg lactic acid. The other excipients are: flexible collodion (contains pyroxylin, rosin, castor oil, alcohol, ether).
Therapeutic indications
Duofilm is indicated for the local treatment of warts.
Duofilm is a dermatological medicine for external use.
Dosage and administration
For external use only, on the skin.
For use in adults and children aged 2 years and over.
Adults and elderly
Duofilm should be applied directly only to the wart once a day, preferably in the evening before bedtime. Be careful to avoid applying it to the healthy skin around the wart.
In children under 12 years of age, treatment must be supervised.
Duofilm is not recommended for the treatment of warts that cover a body area larger than 5 cm2 (approximately the size of a postage stamp).
The duration of treatment is determined by the severity of the condition, and can be up to 6-12 weeks.
Do not continue treatment for more than 12 weeks. If the warts have not disappeared after 12
weeks of treatment, consult your doctor.
Precautions
Avoid contact of Duofilm solution with eyes, nose, mouth or vaginal area (mucous membranes) as it may cause irritation.
In case of accidental contact of Duofilm solution with open wounds, eyes, nose, mouth or vaginal area, immediately wash the affected area with water for 15 minutes. Be careful not to apply Duofilm solution to the healthy skin around the wart as
it may cause irritation. If extensive skin irritation occurs, treatment should be discontinued and you should consult your doctor.
Duofilm is not recommended for children under 2 years of age.
Caution is recommended for use in children between 2-12 years. Duofilm is not recommended for children or
adolescents who show any sign of fever (elevated temperature), who have a viral infection (such as flu or chickenpox) or who have just recovered from any of these conditions.
Special warnings
Pregnancy, breastfeeding, fertility
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby,
ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
There is no information regarding the safety of Duofilm use in pregnant women. Duofilm is not recommended for use during pregnancy.
The substances in Duofilm can pass into breast milk. Breastfeeding is not recommended during Duofilm use.
Driving and using machines
It has no influence on the ability to drive and use machines.
