ENTEROL® 250mg has the following therapeutic indications:
-prevents and treats colitis and diarrhea caused by antibiotic use;
-treats acute infectious diarrhea in adults and children;
-in association with vancomycin/metronidazole, prevents recurrence of diseases caused by Clostridium difficile;
-prevents diarrhea caused by enteral nutrition;
-treatment of irritable bowel syndrome.
Dosage and administration:
Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. The recommended dose is 1-2 capsules of ENTEROL® 250mg, 1-2 times a day. The capsules can be swallowed with water or opened by pouring the contents into a little sweetened soft drink (sugar must be boiled) or food or, if applicable, into a baby bottle. For children under 6 years of age, swallowing the capsules is not recommended (risk of aspiration), but rather opening them and pouring the contents into a drink or food.
Presentation: box with 10 or 20 capsules.
Treatment with Saccharomyces boulardii CNCM I-745® does not replace rehydration when it is necessary. The type of rehydration and the route of administration (oral/intravenous) must be determined according to the severity of the diarrhea, age, and general condition of the patient.
If, after 2 days of treatment, diarrhea persists, the therapeutic approach must be re-evaluated and intravenous rehydration should be considered.
