ZimBo comes from Zimermann – Bochum, the abbreviation that came through telex marking the birth of a prestigious brand. In 1960, Zimbo became the top supplier for vacuum-packed cold cuts. Freshness and quality standards remain the basic principles of our company. The founder's son, Reinhard Zimmermann, took the next big step in 1976: from wholesaler to producer. In the town of Borger, in the state of Emsland, he founded a production unit for regional cold cuts specialties. He opens production units in the Westphalia and Thuringia regions, which will produce original local products under the Zimbo brand.
The specialties produced according to original recipes and innovation make Zimbo a top brand in the food industry in Germany.
In October 2008, the Swiss company ‘’ Schweizer Bell’’ takes over the majority stake in Zimbo and becomes the majority shareholder. In this way, the company consolidates its leading position on the German market, but also internationally.
Today, the Bell group operates in Germany under the name Bell Deutschland GmbH and Co KG with headquarters in Seevetal and in Romania under Zimbo Romania SRL.
The Bell Group is one of the most important meat processors and producers of semi-finished products in Europe.
