ECO Mangold Romania

Mangold is a biennial plant known as leaf beet or spinach beet. Its leaves are used like spinach and have a high content of vitamins and mineral salts. It is harvested when the leaves have matured; it is recommended not to remove more than a quarter of the leaves to avoid exhausting the plant. It can successfully overwinter if, before cold weather, it is dug up and densely planted in sand in a cellar with light exposure, or if it is planted in a greenhouse.

Mangold, a plant that can replace spinach.
The advantage of mangold over spinach is that it does not go to seed in early summer, and it can be harvested continuously from spring until frost.
As such, it is left in the ground. Normally, mangold is an annual plant, but if it is not removed from its roots, it produces leaves much earlier in spring than the start of the season.
The harvesting of these leaves should not be delayed too long, as they become poisonous if they go to seed.
Mangold leaves are an excellent food for those with potassium, calcium, and phosphorus deficiencies.
The petiole is recommended for those who need sodium and potassium, resembling asparagus and cauliflower in many respects.
Mangold is recommended for diabetics.
It is a good digestive. Vegetation period: 65-80 days. It is sown between March 15-30 for early production.

The Cosul cu Fructe Farm is located in Podgoria commune, Oratia village, Buzau County. S.C. COSUL CU FRUCTE S.R.L. was founded in 2012, out of a desire to share the best in natural products, cultivated and cared for with love and responsibility. The farm owns and cultivates, according to organic farming standards, an area of 6 ha of cultivated fruit bushes (currants, raspberries, blackberries). What else the farm produces: vegetables and salads (strawberries, kale, tomatoes, bell and hot peppers, eggplants, green beans, carrots, beets, mint, mizuna), in open fields and in greenhouses covering 5000 sqm, all of which are also organically certified.
Mechanized work is carried out with a Romanian V523 tractor, owned by one of the shareholders. The farm has 6 permanent employees and approximately 10 seasonal employees (day laborers).
