Bergenbier is a beer inspired by nature, which manages to bring the coolness of the mountain closer through a special production process: matured cold, cold filtered and with CO2 from natural fermentation. Thus, Bergenbier is a complex beer, with a balanced taste.
About the producer
It all started in 1994, in Blaj, with the takeover by Interbrew of the majority stake in Bianca S.A. and the beer factory in Baia Mare. A year later, in 1995, Bergenbier beer appeared.
The name "Beer from the mountain", Bergenbier in German, represents a promise of quality, freshness and purity of the ingredients, preserved even today.
The Ploiesti factory came under the administration of the company in 1999, and since then it has undergone numerous processes of technologization and streamlining of the impact on the environment, being today one of the most modern in Romania.
Interbrew merged with AmBev in 2004 and became InBev, and four years later, at a global level, a new merger followed, resulting in the Anheuser-Busch InBev company.
2010 is the year in which, in Romania, the company takes the name of its main brand and becomes Bergenbier S.A., part of the StarBev Group, one of the most important beer producers in Central and Eastern Europe, following the takeover of operations in Central and Eastern Europe from AB InBev by CVC Capital Partners.
