Originating from the Palestinian city of the same name, Nablus soap is one of the oldest soaps in the world with a history of over a millennium. Nablus soap is based on olive oil, due to which it contains mineral salts (phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, iron, manganese), vitamin A and E and glycerin, all of which are necessary for healthy skin. The story of soap has behind it hardworking people, who spent their days on the vast olive plantations since 1880, in order to bring to fruition a product that mankind has used since past eras and continues to do so today. Nablus soap is recommended for those with dry and sensitive skin. Through the linoleic and alpha-linoleic acids that it naturally contains, the product also has an antioxidant effect, allowing the skin to breathe, restoring its natural balance. It also helps acne-prone skin because it is not a greasy soap and does not clog pores. Nabulsi Soap and the solid soap variant Al-Jamal are brands that belong to the Al-Shakaa family, considered one of the oldest families in the soap making industry in Nablus, with an uninterrupted activity since 1880. The family owns one of the two existing factories in the city of Nablus, which at the beginning of the 19th century boasted over 40 soap factories.
