Composition. This medicine contains acetylsalicylic acid as an active substance and belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs with pain, fever and inflammation reducing properties.
Therapeutic indications. It is indicated for: symptomatic treatment of mild or moderate pain, headaches, muscle pain, rheumatic pain in and around the joints, acute pain located on the path of a nerve, toothache and menstrual pain; symptomatic treatment of fever; combating inflammation in acute polyarticular rheumatism (an inflammatory disease that can develop as a complication of inadequately treated streptococcal infection); reducing inflammation of the joints in rheumatoid polyarthritis (a disease manifested by inflammation, swelling and pain of the joints and difficulty in movement).
Precautions. Before taking Acid acetylsalicylic-Richter 500 mg, talk to your doctor or pharmacist if: you are allergic to medicines used against pain, inflammation and rheumatism; you suffer from bronchial asthma, hay fever, allergic inflammation of the nasal mucosa (allergic rhinitis), nasal polyps or chronic diseases of the respiratory tract, or if you have allergic reactions to other medicines. In these cases, the use of acetylsalicylic acid may trigger asthma attacks, skin rashes (especially urticaria) or swelling of the face, tongue, throat with difficulty swallowing and breathing (angioedema); you have suffered from ulcers in the stomach or intestine in the past, including chronic or recurrent (repetitive) ulcers, or bleeding in the stomach and intestine; you are following a treatment with medicines against blood clotting; you suffer from impaired kidney function (renal failure), impaired heart and blood vessel function (for example, diseases of the blood vessels in the kidneys, heart disease with insufficient ability to pump blood, decreased blood volume, major surgeries, blood infection (sepsis) or major bleeding); you suffer from a severe deficiency of the enzyme glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase; you suffer from impaired liver function (hepatic failure); you are in the first or second trimester of pregnancy; you are breastfeeding; you have a surgical intervention planned, including minor surgeries, for example, tooth extractions, because acetylsalicylic acid can lead to an increased tendency to bleed during and after surgeries; you have or have had gout in the past, because this medicine can trigger gout attacks.
Dosage and method of administration.
Adults.
For the symptomatic treatment of pain and fever: 500 mg acetylsalicylic acid (one tablet of Acid acetylsalicylic-Richter 500 mg) repeating the dose as needed at intervals of 4 hours;
To combat inflammation in acute polyarticular rheumatism and in rheumatoid polyarthritis: 3-4 g acetylsalicylic acid (6-8 tablets of Acid acetylsalicylic-Richter 500 mg) per day, in divided administration, at intervals of 6 hours. The maximum daily dose is 4 g acetylsalicylic acid (8 tablets of Acid acetylsalicylic-Richter 500 mg).
Use in children and adolescents.
In children and adolescents, administration for the effects of reducing pain and/or fever in viral conditions with or without fever is done only at the doctor's indication and under his strict supervision)
Children over 12 years old
For the effects of reducing pain and fever, 250 mg acetylsalicylic acid is administered, repeating the dose as needed at intervals of 4-8 hours;
To combat inflammation in acute polyarticular rheumatism, 85-100 mg acetylsalicylic acid/kg and day is administered (without exceeding 3 g per day), divided, at intervals of 4-6 hours, for 20-30 days; then 2/3 of the attack dose is administered for 10-20 days, then 1/2-1/3 for another 30-40 days.
Children under 12 years old
The use of acetylsalicylic acid in children under 12 years of age is not recommended without a doctor's prescription. The recommended daily dose is 60 mg/kg and day, in 4-6 doses, equivalent to 15 mg/kg at an interval of 6 hours or 10 mg/kg at an interval of 4 hours.
Take the tablets after meals, with plenty of fluids.
Special warnings.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine. Pregnancy.
If you are or want to become pregnant, you should tell your doctor immediately to discuss an alternative method of treatment. In the first two trimesters of pregnancy, small doses of this medicine can be used, but only at the doctor's indication. The use of this medicine in the last trimester of pregnancy is contraindicated, as it can seriously affect the development of your child.
Breastfeeding.
This medicine passes into breast milk in small amounts. No negative effects on the child have been reported to date, so it is not necessary to stop breastfeeding. However, if you need higher doses (more than 300 mg per day) or regular use, you should stop breastfeeding.
Driving and using machines.
This medicine does not affect the ability to drive or use machines.
