Composition

The active substance is acetylsalicylic acid. One gastro-resistant tablet contains 75 mg acetylsalicylic acid. Therapeutic indications

Protecardin is intended for administration in adults.

Protecardin contains acetylsalicylic acid as the active substance.

Acetylsalicylic acid (Protecardin) belongs to a group of medicines called antiplatelet agents. Protecardin works by preventing the aggregation ("sticking") of blood cells called platelets (or blood platelets) and thus prevents the formation of blood clots (thrombi).

• Prevention of recurrent myocardial infarction and stroke (transient ischemic attack and cerebral infarction);

Important: Protecardin is not intended for the treatment of pain or fever; for this purpose, other medicines containing acetylsalicylic acid in appropriate doses (500 mg) should be used.

Dosage and administration

Adults: for long-term treatment, the usual dose is 1-2 gastro-resistant Protecardin tablets, once a day.

In short-term treatment, at the recommendation of the treating physician, in acute coronary syndrome or ischemic stroke, higher doses, up to 300 mg acetylsalicylic acid, may be appropriate. Subsequently, treatment will continue with the recommended dose for long-term treatment.
