Old El Paso is a Tex-Mex food brand from American food manufacturer General Mills. They include tacos and tortillas, taco seasoning, sauces, spices, rice or refried beans. Old El Paso products are marketed globally. The brand is owned by General Mills.

In 1917 A.C. Powell, a farmer from New Mexico opens his own company: The Mountain Pass Canning Company. With a 7-hectare farm, he managed to become one of the first companies to produce canned tomatoes and beans.

In 1938 The Mountain Pass Canning Co. registers Old El Paso as a brand. It was the first brand to produce hot sauce outside of Mexico and which transformed it into a symbol through the Hot Taco Sauce.

In 1969 Old El Paso launches Meal Kits and starts to promote Mexican cuisine in America.

In 1994 General Mills buys the Old El Paso brand and brings to the market the tortilla formats in the 90s.
