In 1565, on the occasion of the visit of the Spanish ambassador to the Medici family court in Florence, Bernardo Buontalenti prepared an innovative frozen dessert: Gelato cream.
In 1979, the Badini Pastry Shop in Florence reinterpreted the famous recipe based on milk, cream, sugar and egg yolks: a few simple ingredients, to bring back the authentic taste of the world's first Gelato.
