CLARITINE 10MG X 10 TABLETS

Composition

The active substance is loratadine 10 mg. The other ingredients of the tablet are lactose monohydrate, corn starch and magnesium stearate.

Therapeutic indications

Claritine belongs to a class of medicines known as antihistamines. Antihistamines help to reduce allergy symptoms by blocking the effects of a substance called histamine, which is produced in the body.

Claritine relieves symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis (e.g. hay fever), such as sneezing, runny or itchy nose, itchy or burning eyes.

Claritine can also be used to reduce the symptoms of urticaria (itching, redness, and the number and size of hives).

Relief of these symptoms lasts all day and will help you to get back to your normal daily activities and sleep.

Dosage and method of administration

Always use Claritine exactly as your doctor has told you. You should check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

Adults and children over 12 years of age:

Take one tablet once a day with a glass of water, with or without food.

In children aged 2 to 12 years the dosage is based on body weight:

Body weight over 30 kg:

Take one tablet once a day with a glass of water, with or without food.

Patients with severe liver impairment

Adults and children weighing more than 30 kg:

Take one tablet every other day with a glass of water, with or without food.

Claritine 10 mg tablets are not recommended for children under 2 years of age.

Precautions

Before using Claritine tell your doctor or pharmacist:

- if you have liver disease.

Special warnings

Pregnancy, breast-feeding, fertility

If you are pregnant Claritine is not recommended.

If you are breast-feeding Claritine is not recommended. Loratadine is excreted in breast milk.

Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine.

Driving and using machines

At the recommended dose, Claritine is not expected to cause drowsiness or affect your ability to drive or use machines. However, very rarely some people may experience drowsiness, which could affect their ability to drive or use machines.

Packaging

It is available in boxes with a PVC/Al blister containing 10 tablets.
